Sindhi Sanchaya is intended to be an interactive database of Sindhi literature leading the community of readers, researchers, and enthusiasts to the texts online as well as offline. As a minor language in India and as a partitioned language and literary tradition, Sindhi needs greater presence on the internet.

This database in the digital space consists of information about Sindhi books published in India and elsewhere. Sindhi Sanchaya aspires to consolidate information scattered across private collections, libraries, archives, and institutions — and draw traffic to these resources for further research.

The metadata collected here can be of immense interest in generating the big picture of Sindhi literature across scripts: Perso-Arabic, Devanagari, and Roman.

Objectives

  • To build a resource for an under-served language and literature on the Internet.
  • To provide access to literary heritage to the Sindhi community and researchers interested in South Asian literature.
  • To use the digital platform for cultural preservation and to bring together a community divided by geographical and scriptural borders.
